You can compress video for email for free with the online converter only if you have just one file and it’s smaller than 100 MB. But what if you have a number of files, or the size of your file is over the converter’s limit? Of course, you can try to condense the files into a ZIP archive before sending them, but this trick does not always work with videos.
Then try the desktop converter! SuperSpeed Video Converter has a Mac and a Windows version and can work with 180+ file formats, including MP4, WMV, AVI, MKV, MOV (QuickTime), and many more. To find out more about reducing file sizes, read the guide below.
Step 1.Download and Install SuperSpeed Video Converter
Download the installation file, run it, and follow the on-screen instructions. When the installation is complete, run the converter.

Step 2.Add the Video Files
Click the Add Media button at the top-left corner, then click Add Video. Locate the files you want to send, select them, and click Open. The files will appear in the main program window.

Step 3.Select the Desired Format and File Size
First of all, choose a format for your videos. In some cases, even changing the format can reduce the file size. Go to the Video tab, click the desired format (for example MP4) and select one of the given presets (for example MP4 H.264 - Original Size). If the resolution of the original file is very high, and sending it via email requires a significant reduction in size, you can select a smaller resolution than the original video.

After selecting the preset, check the output video size next to the video in the program window. The size should be lower than the upper limit set by your email provider. Here are the limits of the most popular ones:
- Gmail – 25 MB
- Yahoo – 25 MB
- Outlook 2013 or later – 20 MB
- iCloud – 20 MB
If the size of your file is still over the limit, click on the estimated file size. In the window that appears, drag the File size slider to the left until the file size meets the requirements. However, if the quality drops below “Good,” it is worth considering lowering the resolution even further (to do this, choose a preset with a lower resolution in the format group). If you have more than one file to downsize, don’t forget to do the same to the rest of the videos.

Step 4.Launch the Compression
Set the destination folder for the converted files by clicking the Folder icon at the bottom of the program window and locating the appropriate directory on your computer. When you’re ready to shrink the files, click the Convert button. Once the processing is done, your files will be ready for sharing.
