WHAT IS MTS?
MTS is the abbreviation for MPEG Transport Stream. This format is part of the AVCHD standard created in 2006 by Sony and Panasonic. MTS is the format in which most HD camcorders save video. The format is also used to store HD video on Blu-ray discs. Below you’ll find listed some of the programs that support the playback of .mts files. The MTS format uses H.264 video compression and supports 720p, 1080p, and 1080i resolution formats. The audio stream can be encoded with the Dolby AC-3 codec or represented by linear PCM audio.
